I think the main difference for more mature applicants is the challenge of fitting into a relatively small space a lot more life history than your average school leaver.
I find that I derive a much greater feeling of accomplishment when I am working with others towards a common goal, in which all my efforts are dedicated to the wider work of the team. I find that caring for, and communicating with, the patients is the part of the job I enjoy the most and I would relish the chance to progress into a more complex, but essentially patient-centred, role.
